THE CRERAR 450

A journey through Scotland’s landscapes, stories, and hospitality

The Crerar 450 is a 450‑mile arc across Scotland, connecting seven of the country’s most characterful landscapes — from sea lochs and islands to glens, royal countryside, and the agricultural heartlands of Aberdeenshire. It is Crerar Hotels’ answer to the North Coast 500: a quieter, richer, more soulful route that celebrates Scotland’s depth rather than its speed.

The journey links all nine of Crerar’s Scottish hotels, each with its own personality, heritage, and sense of place. Travellers move through iconic locations including Inveraray, Oban, the Isle of Mull, Glencoe, Loch Ness, Nairn, Inverurie, and Royal Deeside, taking in west coast islands, the Great Glen, Ben Nevis, the Cairngorms, and the castle‑rich landscapes of Aberdeenshire along the way.

Each hotel is a chapter in the story — from seafood lunches on Loch Fyne to island sunsets on Mull, from the drama of Glencoe to the calm of Nairn’s shoreline, from castle country at Thainstone House to the royal landscapes of Ballater. Every stop offers its own character, local cuisine, and warm Scottish welcome, creating a journey that feels both expansive and deeply personal.

But the Crerar 450 is more than a road trip. It is a route shaped by purpose. Through the Crerar Trust, a portion of every stay supports local causes across the Highlands, Islands, and rural communities — preserving culture, strengthening communities, and protecting the landscapes that make Scotland extraordinary.

For Scenic Scotland Select guests, the Crerar 450 is an invitation to travel with meaning. Whether you join us for a Short Escape or a bespoke chauffeur‑driven Select Discovery itinerary, you step into a story that stretches across Scotland — a story of place, people, and purpose. It is a reminder that journeys are not only about where we go, but what we give back along the way.
